Buying Acomplia

Buying Acomplia, I've been thinking about what makes a good folksonomy. It needs to be self-interested, Slimona generic rimonabant acomplia online pharmacy, so people will put in the time to actually use it. It also needs to be shared, or else all that interesting tagging never communicates any meaning to other people, acomplia uk. I think Flickr and del.icio.us have cornered two very good markets, Acomplia approval in us, with images and bookmarks. Other kinds of media, like books or movies wouldn't be as useful, cheap acomplia, since a simple genre and rating is about all you can expect to find, Canada acomplia, beyond the wealth of metadata already applied to those items by experts and publishers.

One fruitful application for folksonomy is in business documents - the stuff of intranets, Buying Acomplia. People have a lot of interest in keeping found things found in a business setting. Human resources documents, fda approves acomplia in us, policy guidance, Acomplia guaranteed overnight delivery, manuals, and so on get pulled from the intranet onto everyone's desktop to make them easier to find again. This is usually because these things tend to be such a pain to find in the first place, acomplia drug interactions. Obviously an office should organize its information so it is findable, Acomplia pounds lost, and should tag everything with useful metadata to make that easier. Buying Acomplia, But, lets say you work for an office with no useful metadata and no useful information structure. What then.

Allow the employees to essentially vote on an organization scheme by letting them tag documents they find useful with keywords, acomplia in us, similar to delicious. Sanofi acomplia, Set up the system to retain their own personal collection of documents and tags, so they can immediately build up a useful and usable collection of their own. At the same time, key buy acomplia online, share those tags with everyone else with both browse and search interfaces. This is the model that Flickr and del.icio.us have established, and it seems to be a compelling one, Buying Acomplia. Acomplia no prescription, Add the number of identical tags on a document to the search ranking of that document for that phrase (heck, for all phrases - if people are tagging it, it's just better than other documents), phentermine with acomplia. With enough participation, Buy generic acomplia online, you should have a big, flat, grass-roots categorization scheme, acomplia cheap discount. The structure of this implicit taxonomy hangs on individual documents - all the links and relationships originate from the tag intersections at the document level. Aventis acomplia, An information architect would be needed at this point to make sense of all this data and put a little structure behind it all. Buying Acomplia, But that IA would have a lot of really useful data to work with.

I'm not saying this is a better way of doing taxonomy development - far from it. It's a lazy way of doing it, structure activity relationship acomplia, in a lot of ways. Acomplia online online a href, But let's be honest, who doesn't work for a fundamentally lazy office around here. People have other priorities, acomplia purchase, so organizing the intranet gets put off. This method would allow an office with a large staff and a large repository to build up a sense of structure and priority without having to shell out the big bucks for an IA team, Buying Acomplia. Acomplia reproductive toxicity, So the advantages are low cost of entry and very low maintenance costs. But obviously there is a down-side to all this. This will be a slow painful process for the staff - and it assumes a pretty high level of information chaos within the office, acomplia prescription drug. (As an aside, Acomplia ship c o d, I've been shocked how much info chaos organizations can survive.) But it provides a sense of hope, of action, of doing something about it yourself for each and every staff member, have anybody try acomplia. Buying Acomplia, I think part of the appeal of Flickr is this collaborative sense of building something together, of contributing to a greater whole. Can this same appeal be spread to a corporate or government intranet, Diet drug acomplia, perhaps in a slightly less fun form. Maybe.

I also think, as an information architect, that I would love to tackle a taxonomy-building job where this kind of social categorization had already been established. Which tags are parents and children. Which tags are synonyms, Buying Acomplia. Which documents get a lot of tags and which get a only a handful. Why. Ah, to be graced with so much data would be a pleasant thing.

Tom Vander Wal raised a good point this morning over coffee: With the implicit folksonomy described in this post, and this other one, how does the system (or the IA) accommodate new terms discovered through tagging?

This is a tough issue, because the tagging terms are unstructured and ambiguous. Incorporating them into a more formal taxonomy would require either some pretty slick clustering algorythms or a human IA. All the meaning that can be gleaned from these terms comes from the relationships they have to individual tagged items. Aggregate all those relationships, and maybe you have something. But the question remains, how do you know when something important is happening in a folksonomy? What form of analysis do we use?

Mark T had the idea of using the terms as input for an open card sort. His post is quite thoughtful, and I wish I’d found it before I wrote this posting…

Using mapped folksonomy to break corporate silos

A problem in getting people in corporate silos to communicate is that they do not speak the same language even when they are talking about the same thing. Mapped folksonomy can bridge the language gap. The trick is to have people participating in the …
